Do you follow the news and stories from BNI worldwide : http://successnet.czcommunity.com/ ? There is an interesting article up there at the moment about a survey of BNI chapters done in the UK and Ireland. Their findings showed that the members companies there are very similar to ours : Mostly under 10 staff, been in business for at least 2 years, predominantly over 5 years. Most of the members in the survey reported that they had made more than HK$60,000 in the last 12 months as a result of their membership, with more than a third earning more than HK$120,000.

How does that compare to our chapter? Right now it is hard to tell. With the new BNI Bucks forms in place though we should be able to build up a picture for the chapter overall very soon. Those forms are deliberately anonymous – the confidentiality should overcome any reticence about reporting any amounts. Do be honest, and report the turnover of all the work that you do as a result of a referral, whether with a fellow member, a second tier referral or repeat business.

It is also important to “receive without forgetting”. Keep a track for your own records of your referrals and the income they generated. We’ll be covering useful ways of doing that over the next few weeks. When you can see how well you are doing, you will either be inspired to do more, or inspired to try harder!

The Attraction Stars report is attached so we can see how we are progressing with referrals. I have included the BNI bucks reported in this week’s meeting – a lot bigger than I expected thanks to one particularly good referral! I hope we here a detailed testimonial about that next week, from whoever submitted it.

Very important : In the reference field please put your own name, so that we can reconcile who has paid.

If you prefer to continue paying by cheque, please bring one for HK$625 to “BNI Attraction Chapter” to the next meeting. As a further simplification we are going to make it the same price each month, and $625 balances out to the correct amount.
