Dear BNI Friends,

How would you feel if you set up a business meeting with a client and they don’t show up? Or they show up but spend a lot of time whispering with their colleagues and checking their Blackberry? Or they send along someone else in their place, someone who only vaguely knows anything about the project ? Or they get up and leave half way through your presentation? You wouldn’t be too happy would you?

I’m sure none of us would do that with our suppliers, and certainly wouldn’t treat our customers like that.

However, some of us seem to be forgetting that the ”B” in BNI stand for “Business”. Our Thursday meetings are Business Meetings that deserve all the attention and etiquette you would expend on a meeting with a new client. After all, this is your one time in the week to meet with your 30-strong sales team. The impression you make on a Thursday morning sets the tone for how the rest of the members, your salesmen, will present your business to our their contact networks. If you give out a vibe of being inconsiderate and inattentive, then that will be multiplied 30 times as we go about finding business to refer to you.

On a brighter note, the attached Attraction Stars chart shows a change at the top. Giving points for dances and training changes the game a little. And with the MSP on Wednesday 29th, there is a great chance for picking up a training point as well as brushing up on our BNI techniques.

I shall be away next week, on holiday. Liz shall be leading the meeting, so please be nice and well behaved for her!

Please remember to pay this month’s breakfast fee if you have not done so already. The following breakfast fees are calculated according to the average number of meetings per month until the end of the term being 30 Sept:

For existing members: $625 (average for the period 1April – 30 Sept)
For newly joined members from 1st June: $637 (average for period 1st June to 30 Sept)
New members joining from next month: $650 (average for period 1 July to 30 Sept)

For members renewing please remember to bring a cheque to our meeting this Thursday.
